Edouard will play as Lennon hints at Turnbull start

|

As the big game approaches and all the talk and speculation comes to a head, the answers to the “Who will play” question will be revealed shortly but Celtic boss, Neil Lennon has gave his strongest indication yet that young David Turnbull is poised to start against Hearts in today’s Scottish Cup Final.

In an interview with the Scottish media, Lennon was talking up Edouard as “a big game player” and the qualities he brings to the occasion.  The Celtic gaffer said, “These occasions bring the best out in Odsonne. He is a big-game player.

“That’s a great thing to have and it speaks volumes for his character as you forget how young he is.

He is quality and is a real talismanic figure for us. If he is on song then we have a real chance of winning the Scottish Cup.

“Like the majority of the players, he misses the fans in the stadium at the moment.

“He’s an entertainer at the end of the day but he’s in a good position mentally and physically and, like the others, he’s had a good record in this competition.

“We are all looking for more of the same in the Cup Final.”

During the interview, Lennon was very complimentary about his squad and said there are a couple of positions he is still to decide on but gave an indication that Turnbull may be in the starting line up, “But I’m not going to put all the spotlight on Odsonne as we have quality elsewhere too.

“Moi Elyounoussi is in great scoring form this season and is a threat from the wide areas.

“Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic, David Turnbull … they are all match- winners as well.”

“We have experienced players who have been over the course and distance before and that will help on Sunday.”

Interesting there was no mention of Soro in his pre match conference and his hint to “experienced players” all about confirms that captain, Scott Brown will start.
