This really is starting to get embarrassing now. As Rangers area set to face Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday night, The Sun has reported that former Celtic striker, Chris Sutton, has once again been banned from covering the game at Ibrox.

Sutton was first banned back in December as he was deemed a ‘security risk’ by Ibrox CEO Stewart Robertson, “I’m not allowed to work on the Celtic game tonight from a studio at Ibrox along with Neil Lennon as Stewart Robertson the Rangers CEO says we are a security risk.

“Good to see Rangers ground breaking diversity and inclusion campaign ‘Everyone Anyone’ is working well…”

So what are the Ibrox club saying now? Unfortunately, the could not be contacted for comment (strange) but a BT Sport spokesman confirmed that the coverage will now take place at Celtic Park, “This Thursday BT Sport will present the live UEFA Europa League Celtic and Rangers matches back to back on BT Sport 3HD from an empty Celtic Park.

“We would have preferred to have kept our presentation team together at Ibrox but unfortunately this has not been made possible.”

If Sutton is deemed a ‘security risk’, Rangers have had two months now to put measures in place to make sure that anyone coming to their club feels safe to do so.

And by banning Sutton again, are they saying their fans STILL cannot be trusted? Or are they admitting that their security is so shambolic, a former Celtic player cannot feel safe to cover Scottish teams in Europe?

Or is there is there another, more petty, reason they have banned him?

You take your pick but my money is on the latter.

Sutton terrorised them as a player. He terrorises them as a pundit.

They don’t like the truth. It’s as simple as that and for that, the club continues to embarrass itself further (if that is even possible) by continuing this inane and childish ban.

The Celtic fans reacted to the news and if they are not careful, they may end up banned for the next Glasgow Derby. No wait…….
