Quoted by the Scottish Sun, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that we did look at trying to sign Victor Wanyama but that we failed in our attempts to do so in the summer window.
The Bhoys made some interesting signings during the off-season and Greg Taylor was one of the last on Deadline Day.
Right up to that moment, though, speculation was also rife that a late move for Wanyama was afoot and that we were looking to bring him back to the club from Tottenham.
However, no such move materialised and Lennon has explained that, though there was interest, it never really got off of the ground:
“There was interest but it never got off the ground.”
I think many of us would have liked to have seen Victor back at the club but with him on Premier League wages, financially things would need to be looked at seriously.
It appears, too, that this never really had legs in the summer anyway.
