Kristoffer Ajer has really looked the part since Brendan decided to start him more regularly at centre half.
His form has even been rewarded with his first call up to Norway`s senior side for the friendlies against Australia and Albania later this month.
The 19 year old, who arrived as a midfielder when he was signed under previous coach Ronny Deila in 2016, is beginning to show his full potential in the heart of our defence.
With his current deal expiring in 2020, the Scottish Sun are reporting that the club`s chief executive Peter Lawwell has opened talks with the player`s agent Tore Pedersen over extending the teenager`s contract.
It certainly sounds like a good move on the club`s part. The Norwegian is showing some very good signs that he could develop into a top player, and it is very important we tie him up to a longer deal and secure his value.
Going by the reaction on Twitter, it seems most of our supporters agree with the decision to extend the defender`s contract:
Good news, give Rogic the same

The big man is already our best defender, even out of position and considering he was signed as a midfielder

With Ajer and Ntcham I believe Celtic have dug up another £10 to £20m players in a few years…and there’s the money that covers and justifies buying Paddy Roberts
