Patrick Roberts says he would like to stay at the club long term, although he doesn`t know for sure where his future lies when his loan with us ends.
The 21 year old is expected to return to Manchester City at the end of the season, but there doesn`t seem to be any likelihood of him breaking into Pep Guardiola`s first team plans.
When interviewed by a group of young fans, the winger was asked if he would like to be at the club to seal 10 in a row, he replied:
I would love to be here but I can’t really say much on that. Something like that is massive and especially for Celtic to do it would be huge, and I’m sure they’ll do it and I’ll be part of of it if I’m here or not.’
The comment certainly showed the Englishman`s willingness to sign on the dotted line for us, but there are a number of hurdles that could stop a transfer from happening; none more so than the potential fee that City would demand.
Still, the midfielder`s words were greeted warmly on Twitter, with many hoping that our no.7 will move North of the border on a permanent basis at the end of the season:
get the bhoy signed up as a celt.
