Played six. Won three. Nine points from eighteen. Sixth in the league.

It’s a worse record than Liam Brady, Lou Macari and the much maligned John Barnes.

But, adding perspective, none of those managers have had to deal with such a huge transition that the current boss, Ange Postecoglou, has had to deal with.

And that is why the fans are still happy with boss Ange Postecoglou. So say’s Stan Petrov.

And as Celtic look forward to another home tie against Raith Rovers in the League Cup, former Hoops midfielder Petrov said on Sky Sports the fans are still with Ange and know this is a transition period the manager needs to go through, “Everyone is talking about the away form. It’s just a transition period they have to go through.

“Ange is finding it very difficult to get his best team out on the pitch, he is finding it very difficult to pick his best players.

“It will take time. It’s a transition I think everyone expected.

“I think fans are quite satisfied with what’s going on on the pitch and it’s just one of those periods they have to go through.

“The way the manager wants Celtic to play, it’s very difficult. There’s a lot of details need to be covered.

“He always stresses how he loves going forward and loves scoring goals but they have got a lot of new players at the back and they need time to gel.

“There’s a lot of work that needs doing on the pitch, he knows, and he is talking about it. He is quite calm and he knows the process will take time.”

Every Celtic fan accepts that this rebuild will take time. What they won’t accept, however, is losing to a team bottom of the league. A team that was struggling to score never mind buy a win.

Will the fans give Ange time? Only time will tell.
