Celtic will be top of the Scottish Premiership table on Christmas Day after Brendan Rodgers’ side brushed aside Dundee at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Winning 3-0 thanks to a Mikey Johnston double and a Filip Benkovic effort, the Hoops were at their blistering best against the Tayside club and on another day could have won by a six or seven goal margin.
It was an especially pleasing performance given the amount of important first-team stars we’re missing right now with players such as Kieran Tierney and Odsonne Edouard sitting out Saturday’s match.
One of the top performers on the afternoon was Scott Sinclair, who has been heavily criticised in recent months due to faltering, inconsistent form. He was wonderful yesterday though, terrorising the Dundee defence and looking determined to impress.
Fans were happy to given credit where it’s due and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Saturday performance…
@Scotty_Sinclair great to see you at your best today! Thatβs the scotty we know and love! Welcome back

Getting to watch the #CELDUN game now. @Scotty_Sinclair had an amazing game, great determination. Any criticism of him is totally unwarranted. #celtic

While the performance of Mikey Johnston was excellent yesterday the most significant thing for me was the work rate and performance of Scott Sinclair, a player we need to be on top form in the months ahead. HH pic.twitter.com/4w3Tupb9Vk
