Sometimes doing this job you learn to read into comments or maybe you just become more naturally suspicious whenever a journalist comments on anything to do with Celtic.

Whether it’s a transfer story or general business about the club, main stream journalists always have an angle for a story that benefits their own agenda.

Mark Guidi was speaking on Go Radio about the possibility of former Celtic boss, Neil Lennon being linked to the Republic of Ireland job when he made a comment about Lennon’s tenure that made we wonder what exactly is he talking about, ” I can see Republic of Ireland being a fit for Neil Lennon. He will get another opportunity.

“When that is, we don’t know, but he will get another opportunity.

“And I hope for him, he does well because I felt for him. Some of the things that happened to him as a person and as a football manager and you know he carried a lot on his shoulders.

“He fronted up every week. He covered up for a lot of things going on and he had to front up and take and take it on the chin and face the fury.

“And yeah there was a couple of things that he should have done differently for sure. There’s no doubt about that.

“But I just hope that he gets a chance to come back.

“And I’m sure will have learned to take your own people in with you. At least one. Get one at least one person in with you and it gives you a much better chance of succeeding.”

So what exactly was it that Lennon was covering up? Because he didn’t do a very good job of it as Celtic’s dirty washing was clear for the public to see last season and most of it was Lennon’s own doing!

From the outing of wantaway players, to the Dubai trip, to sitting at the pool having a few beers as well as the very public defence of said trip, if anything was being attempted to being covered up, it was very shoddily done.
