We’ve all heard about players famously taking the huff whenever things don’t go their way.

Probably one of the most famous was when Mark Viduka refused to come out the tunnel at halftime during John Barnes’s ill-fated spell at Celtic when the team were struggling to the then lowly Inverness Caley Thistle.

The 3-1 home defeat to the highlanders eventually sealed the fate of Barnes and led to the Martin O’Neill era and the club hasn’t looked back since.

But Mark Wilson revealed the time that on-loan Celtic star Edson Braafheid walked out of Hampden prior to the 2-1 semi-final defeat to Ross County under Neil Lennon’s tenure.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Wilson said, “That was the day Edson Braafheid walked out. Because I got put on the bench ahead of him. He walked out of Hampden before the game kicked off.

“I was injured on the lead-up to it and I was back fit. Trained for a bit and the manager put me on the bench.”

I revealed how Wilson also told how Braafheid was a problem player during his time at Celtic and seemed to have a serious attitude problem during his loan spell in 2010.

Ironically, the Dutch defender went on to play in the World Cup Final of that year after making just twelve appearances for the Hoops in his six-month stint.

I’ve heard of quiet , slow weeks for stories before but this one really is a doozy ! Mark Wilson regurgitating a yarn from 2010 -13 years ago ,about a tale of woe …. January always is a bad month for everybody .Why did he not bring the event to people’s attention long before now ? Must be skint ….

    It was 2-0 not 2-1
