What is wrong with Davie Provan?

Did someone pour out of date milk into his cornflakes this morning?

Every time this guy speaks about Celtic it is nothing but negativity. And, like his rantings on a certain radio show, it’s getting boring. And fast.

In his column in The Sun, Provan seems to have an issue with the Celtic manager resting Kyogo Furuhashi for the match against Livingston.

Not only that, he is claiming the Celtic supporters, or ‘punters’ are starting to question Postecoglou’s judgement. Really?

Where? Which supporters?

The only people that are questioning his judgement, and his credibility, are the newspaper hacks and pundits, who for some reason, after a penalty miss against Livingston, are lobbying Callum McGregor to abdicate Postecoglou’s title as Celtic manager and take control of the club whenever a contentious decision is required.

The hounding of Ange since that day is a stain on the real journalists this country produces. If there really are any who have the cajones to call this out.

The fact they can’t get to the Celtic gaffer themselves in press conferences has forced them to change tac.

They are now calling on the Celtic captain Callum McGregor to actively undermine the manager whilst on the field of play if he makes a decision they don’t agree with.

So let’s take some of his column apart bit by bit. I would do it all, but it gets kinda embarrassing for Provan after the what I’ve sad below.

Speaking in his column today, Provan said, “The goodwill coming his way from punters won’t last forever. Up until now he’s been getting an easy ride.

o he hasn’t. He is constantly reminded by people in Provan’s profession that he is not from Scotland and that he can’t have a clue about Scottish football. Plus they all had him for the sack prior to the Aberdeen game at Pittodrie.

“Put it this way, had Neil Lennon left Kyogo Furuhashi out against Livingston last week, he’d have been torched.

Conjecture. But whatever backs up your argument Davie. Oh, and mind the time Lenny left Edouard on the bench against Hibs last season for the second time? Was he ‘torched’ then?

“Unless Postecoglou stops havering, he’ll have the Celtic support on his case for the first time.

“Punters are starting to question his judgment, and with good reason.

No. They are not. There has been nothing but praise for Postecoglou after 6 wins and a draw in a month.

“Fast forward a couple of months and Kyogo is still being wasted.

Really? Top scorer at the club and banging them in Europe and he’s being wasted?

“If Postecoglou had a good reason for leaving Furuhashi out against Livingston, I’d love to hear it.

Rested. He said that at the time. And to give Giakoumakis some game time.

Sometimes, no, all the time people like Provan like to just talk about ‘stuff’ just to make them feel relevant.

Does he feel relevant now?
