Taking you away from the managerial chat for a bit, lets talk transfers.  Celtic were keeping tabs on Aston Villa’s highly rated teenager, Aaron Ramsey, in the January transfer window as the youngster was out of contract in the summer.

The Hoops were keen to take the teenager on a free transfer but have been gazumped by Villa who have convinced Ramsey to sign a longer term deal to keep him with The Villains for the foreseeable future.

Academy manager, Mark Harrison, speaking to the Aston Villa official website said, “We are delighted Aaron has signed his first professional contract having registered with the club as an Under-9.

“Aaron has become a regular in the U23s team as well as being somebody who has captained England at youth level. He has also recently been training with the first team on a regular basis.

Would you have John Kennedy as next Celtic manager?

“It is great reward and recognition for all his hard work throughout his journey so far, as well as being a special day for his family and many of the Academy staff who, over the years, have been fantastic in supporting Aaron.

“We really look forward to seeing how he develops over the next few years.”

The young man is clearly talented and is one for the future as he attracted interest from Ajax but the 18 year old seems have decided to opt to develop with Villa for the next few years.
