As the Clyde 1 Superscoreboard team picked over the bones of Celtic’s Europa League defeat against Real Betis, the much maligned Hugh Keevins, was discussing the injury problems the Hoops have and their defensive weaknesses.

Keevins said the fans have a lot to look forward to when the likes of the Celtic captain, Callum McGregor returns from injury when he then broke into a chorus of unexpected praise for Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou, “I have no doubt when Abada, James Forrest, Furuhashi, Callum McGregor, and Giakoumakis, when they all come back it’s going to be very interesting times at Celtic.

“I think that Ange Postecoglou has done a terrific job.

“A job that Eddie Howe could not have done in this short space of time. And he’s still in hiding, Eddie Howe. So I give him an immense credit.

“They lost at Tynecastle. They lost at Ibrox. They beat up St Mirren, Dundee and Ross County . Celtic in big games have got to do more.

“But, I repeat, Ange Postecoglou has done a job that Eddie Howe could not have done.

“And when he gets Furuhashi and Forrest and Abada and McGregor back again and has another transfer window it will be very interesting this season for Celtic.”

For once, I think many, many fans would agree with Keevins.

They are enjoying what they are seeing from Ange’s team in such a short space of time and even when dealt with a team that was decimated with injuries, the Glasgow club really equipped themselves well.

Ans all early indications are is that there is certainly plenty to look forward to this season for the Celtic fans.
