Hugh Keevins: The Celtic moment that started Gio’s downfall

To be honest, I think it was before this moment.

For me, the moment Celtic won the league last season during one of the biggest rebuilds in our history was the starting point for Gio’s downfall.

The European run only gave the former Rangers manager a stay of execution when, in reality, anyone worth their salt could see that he (or his team) were simply not up to it.

But Hugh Keevins highlighted the Celtic moment that he thought the writing was on the wall for van Bronckhorst.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “The alarm bells have been ringing since the first week in September.

“Celtic four, Rangers nil.  followed by Ajax four, Rangers nil.

“After Liverpool, I thought that was the moment that which you’d have to hold your hands up and say, ‘Sorry, He’s a nice man but it’s not working’.

“And since then, seven points have been dropped to St Mirren, St Johnstone and Livingston. Seven points!

“That’s why Celtic are nine points clear at the top.

“So, the alarm bells are being ringing since September and have been answered in late November.”

Celtic now continue the season from a position of strength.

Already looking active in the transfer market and sitting pretty with a nine-point lead at the top, whoever steps into the manager’s job at Ibrox really has their work caught out, not to catch us, but to keep up with us.

Who am I? – Can you guess this Celtic legend from the clues given?
