We, as Celtic fans, have to put up with the unending boredom of our players and manager being linked away from the club.

I suppose we should take it as a compliment because if we were failing as a club, then no one would want them.

But it does get tiresome.

Everton and Leeds where the latest clubs allegedly looking at Ange just before and after Christmas, and as the Scottish media got their knickers in a twist by reporting every tenuous link to our gaffer, in the end, the links, rather predictably, came to nothing.

And Ange Postecoglou has addressed this in his latest interview.

As reported by the Daily Record, Ange reaffirmed his commitment to Celtic when he said, “I couldn’t be happier but mate, the world of management, I am too old to be kidded on by anybody.

“Things change very quickly, how many managers last three years in their roles these days?

“You have either got to have extraordinary success or in rare circumstances a club sticks by you.

“Apart from that, everyone doesn’t last that long, I am going into my third year next year and I am going to keep doing what I am doing and not really worry about what other people see.

“I am hoping that over the course of time as long as I’m here – and I am still here even though people have been getting me out the door – all that I do when I am here is just be consumed by what I do and try to make this football club the best it can be and enjoy every minute of it.”

I like that from the gaffer. Just a gentle reminder to the media that he hasn’t forgotten how they treated him when he arrived.

A reminder that he is well aware of the levels of scrutiny placed on him and that he sees them.

And also a great message to the supporters.

Ange is happy at Celtic. He has no reason to go and it certainly seems as though it won’t be anytime soon.
