Yeah I know.

And it’s probably because of people like me that we are still talking about him.

So hands up. It’s my fault and this will be the last I speak of him.

Maybe……..

But Celtic fans still feel raw about one of the most controversial resignations in the history of the club.

On the brink of history and the Celtic manager walks away mid season and tries to poach the coaching staff and our, now, captain.

It’s little wonder there is still bitterness when it comes to Brendan Rodgers.

But most of it seems to be passing as, when the anger and hurt fades, the appreciation of what Rodgers did starts to get recognised.

In this article about the former gaffer, the Celtic fans let their opinion be heard for one last time:

Johnny Marshall put: “Lawwell is mainly responsible for Brendan going. and hiring managers on the cheap.

“Ronnie Deila and Neil Lennon twice. Let’s just hope that he has no influence in what goes on today, otherwise we will lose Ange soon.”

And this was agreed on by two other Celtic fans:

Gillian Dickson said: “I think he saw the writing on the wall tbh. Lennon, once a Celtic Legend was a puppet. Rodgers was too smart for that. I do not think he’s a snake.

“Johnny Marshall, you’re spot on.”

And long time contributor to the Vital Celtic site kind of agreed but with more harsh words for Rodgers: “Yes Johnny I agree. Lawwell is nothing but a money grabbing B###ARD.

“But remember, BD sneaked out the door to go to Leicester for f##K sake .SNAKE FOREVER.”

My criticism of Rodgers walking is the timing. When he wasn’t backed in the August ’18 window, by Scrooge Lawwell, following back to back trebles he should have had bottle to say eff you and head out the door. Many fans, including me, gave up their partly paid season ticket in protest at his treatment and lack of investment when we were on the ascendancy. If Rodgers had shown the same courage he would have been lauded for his stance and not branded the snake that he still is to this day. Which I think is sad. It also has to be said at that point in August ’18 why didn’t our absent Land Lord, DR intervene and ensure that the manager he personally recruited was fully supported in the transfer window. We then wait three years for an embarrassing and condescending interview from him last week with a Celtic TV puppet with a prepared and sanctioned script.
