This news broke yesterday to a flurry of excitement from the Celtic fans.

The news that the club was in talks with Jota and Cameron Carter Vickers clubs with a view to making the loan moves permanent certainly set the heather on fire in Celtic circles.

Speaking of the deals on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, journalist Roger Hannah said that the news of these imminent signings makes sense for the club and that it would be money well spent to secure the two players on permanent deals, “Celtic supporters will be excited by this news.

“They’ll be excited at the way Jota started the season before his hamstring injury.

“The way he scored goals. The way he created goals and have been excited by the way Cameron Carter Vickers has improved the back line.

“So when you when you bring any player in there was always an element of a gamble bringing players in.

“I think less of a gamble if you know the player and if the player has been there for four or five months as a first team regular and improves your team.

“And I think both Jota and Cameron Carter Vickers have improved the Celtic team.

“Yes, it’s a big outlay at 12 million pounds or 12 and a half for the two of them.

“But Celtic knew that in the summer when the loan deals where initially started.

“Celtic will be pleased with the way that two of them have settled in, and if they can get the two of them on permanent deals. I think 12 and a half million pounds is probably a fair price.”

There is no doubt this would make the Celtic board hugely popular with the fans, especially after securing the three Japanese boys on Hogmanay.

We will watch this one with interest.

Just if we get them to put pen to paper for 4 & half years would be brilliant for the team jota worth that alone I think hail hail bring on 2022.

  • Jack says:

Yes I would like them signed but footballers are mercenaries it’s a short career so is it money and no honours or is no so much money but still a millionaire with medals and winning instead off fighting an happy with a draw

  • Gerry Fagan says:

Get them on a 4 year deal, and win the league (treble). and Champions league windfall.
if they decide to leave in the future, Celtic will easily make money on these two players, no brainer.
