After the 1-1 draw in the Glasgow Derby, Ange Postecoglou was his usual humble self.

Not getting too carried away, the manager lauded his side and made some comments that Hugh Keevins believes will excite the Celtic fans.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “I think that’s very encouraging for the Celtic fans to hear that Ange Postecoglou, who has created the situation that Celtic find themselves in, which is possibly 90 minutes away from officially being crowned the champions.

“He sees ample room for growth within that side and he will have another transfer window in the summertime.

“So it’s encouraging.

“Because Celtic have things to do, apart from being champions of their country, they have to acknowledge that Rangers are 90 minutes away from a European final.

“Celtic have become an irrelevance in Europe and Ange Postecoglou has to address that next season.

“It was obviously impossible for him, given the start that he had and had to assemble a side, that it was impossible for him to advance in Europe this season.

“But next season, the fans are entitled to look for better in Europe.”

For once, Keevins is correct.

If Postecoglou can assemble a title winning squad in two transfer windows, one of which was clearly just a patchwork job, then just imagine what he can do if he is properly backed by the board this summer.

The future bodes well for Celtic.
