If there is one pundit who I thought would be the last one to tip anyone for a move to Celtic it is Alex Rae.

The former Rangers midfielder was speaking on Clyde 1 when he recommended Hibs forward Kevin Nesbit for a move to Paradise.

It’s not the first time the speculation surrounding the Hibs front man has been on the go for a move to the Hoops, but Rae reckons if Postecoglou signed him up, he would be ready to make the step up, “I think he could do a good job for Celtic.  I look at him and I see a boy who’s going in the right direction.

“You look at when he scored in the lower levels and then last year he has a good season, breaks into the Scotland squad and scores on his debut.

“Starts this season, I think he’s got a couple of goals already, so he’s on the right path and I think with Celtic he will score a lot more goals.

“I like a lot of the stuff that he brings to the table.”

Nesbit had a brilliant season last year with Hibs and his form earned him a call up to the Scotland national squad for the summer Euro’s.

Nesbit scored on his Scotland debut against Holland and he has shown, so far, really good potential in his development.

With Celtic almost certain to lose Odsonne Edouard this summer, an investment on a young Scottish striker might just be a move Celtic can afford now that Furuhashi is firing on all cylinders for the Hoops.
