This won’t please a lot of fans and to be honest, I don’t think I mind.

With the burning question of Ange’s backroom team (or lack of) seeming to have fizzled out, it’s amazing how much success can change a supporters mindset when it comes to the likes of John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan.

A certain section of Celtic fans have long treated both with an eye of suspicion and a ridiculed both for their parts in the loss of ten in a row.

Strachan earned the moniker of “Ipad Boy” and Kennedy, for some weird reason, was viewed upon as a spy in the camp for Desmond (yeah I know).

But it seems that with Ange Postecoglou’s early successes, both now are no longer under the microscope.

When asked about the Celtic backroom situation in his most recent Q&A in The Athletic, Devlin gave a fascinating insight into the relationship Ange has with both his coaches, “I understand John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan get on well with Postecoglou and the trio trust each other; Kennedy, for instance, still takes charge of most one-to-one sessions with individual players — an area in which he is very well-respected.

“Postecoglou’s past, especially at Yokohama, suggests he likes fresh faces in his backroom staff coming in over a number of years, but for now we can only speculate whether that conflicts with Celtic’s preference to promote coaching staff from within — with Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus highly rated with the B team, for example.”

So it does seem that both are very highly rated by the Celtic manager and both should also receive credit for the job that has been undertook at Paradise so far.

After all, they were both also pilloried for the failings of last season.

Only seems fair right?

If they are good enough for Ange………….
