Remember the time Hugh Keevins predicted that Celtic would be luck to finish second in the SPFL?

In fact, the veteran journalist said the Hoops would finish behind Aberdeen at the end of the season.

A stunning prediction considering out of the last 20 years, Celtic have been champions 16 times.

But this is not about Hugh Keevins this time. Oh no.

This is about Gordon Dalziel. Now to be fair to Dalziel, he tends to be one of the fairest panelists in the Clyde 1 Superscoreboard but I have to say, the former Raith Rover striker has had a nightmare here when he revealed what he first thought about Celtic’s chances in the SPFL this season, “This would probably be one of the best league titles to win for Celtic in a long, long time.

“I can’t remember because of where they came from back in the summer.

“As I keep coming back to I watched them in pre season over in Wales and I thought to myself, ‘They will be lucky to finish in the top six‘.

“He had to work in the transfer window. The players he’s bought has been terrific even in January everyone hit the ground running.

“And the style of football have played this year is fitting for the Champions of Scotland.”

Now Dalziel is known to be the joker of the show but he was dead on serious about his prediction.

The fact that none of the rest of the panel reacted to that comment tells you he was being sincere.

I, for one, am so glad Postecoglou has made him and the rest of the Celtic doubters eat their words.
