I’m not entirely sure what to make of the result against West Ham today. A 6-2 home defeat for Celtic regardless whether it’s pre season or not is simply unacceptable but in these times, has the unacceptable become acceptable considering where the club is at at the moment?

We all know this team is a far cry from the type of quality we are used to at Paradise, and we also all know that despite the result, Ange still has a lot of work to do to get together anything that resembles a first team to challenge for the title.

After the match, Postcoglou was asked by the reporter from Premier Sports if Ange’s focus was keeping players happy and playing, Ange had the perfect response and it seemed aimed at the players that are seeking a move away from the club, “I’m not about keeping people happy, you know, if they’re not happy here then they can move on.

“I mean, representing this football club should give you joy and happiness.  I’m not an entertainer.

“I’m here to create a culture that maintains the values and traditions of this club and also bring success to this club.

“I’m not interested in keeping people being happy.”

What a great and refreshing outlook for the manager to take. He has laid down his marker and sent a warning to his players. You don’t want to play then go.

And we all know that this is a warning to those players that have been actively seeking a way out of the club since last season.

I would rather lose and have a team of players at least trying to play for the jersey than having imposters out on the pitch not trying a leg.

The more I listen to Ange, the more I am impressed with his style and see if this Celtic board back him, we will dominate Scottish football for years to come.
