At a club like Celtic, we will always have our top players linked away with moves.

It’s par for the course with the amount of exposure our club gets domestically and on the European stage.

With Josip Juranovic already gone, according to speculation, it won’t be long until Giorgos Giakoumakis joins him.

The Greek striker has been tipped to leave in the window after rejecting Celtic’s offer of a new contract prior to the World Cup.

But it wasn’t Giakoumakis that was on Hugh Keevins’ mind. It was Kyogo Furuhashi.

After the Japanese striker netted his 20th goal of the season, Kyogo is now earning a reputation as one of Japan’s top European exports according to FIFA:

And Keevins cannot fathom why there has not been interest from some of the top clubs in England and seemed to hint that West Ham should have taken a punt on him to fire them out of the relegation zone.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “David Moyes paid fifteen million pounds for Danny Ings because West Ham are struggling and in danger of relegation.

“Danny Ings is well into life as a footballer. He must be in his thirties now.

“And here’s Kyogo. I’m amazed that nobody offered Celtic money for Kyogo.”

Kyogo is an integral part of Celtic plans and I cannot imagine Ange Postecoglou entertaining any kind of offer for our Japanese striker.

And even if we did, the offer would need to be well in excess of the £15m that West Ham paid for Ings [Sky Sports].
