This is a rumour that had been doing the rounds since the beginning of the summer.
With Celtic looking to strengthen in the summer, the Hoops have never really managed to find the cover for “that” position.
“That” position is clearly the one vacated by Kieran Tierney after he made his £25m move to Arsenal two seasons ago.
And whilst Tierney has built his career and went from strength to strength, Celtic have never really found the right man to replace him.
Sure, they have a somewhat solid prospect in Greg Taylor and to be fair to the Scottish international, he has never put a foot wrong.

But if we are all completely honest, he is not Tierney class. I mean, who is?
One man that the Hoops clearly feel is the man who can fill those boots, is Bologna left back Aaron Hickey.
Hickey joined the Serie A club just last summer and after making just ten appearances for the Italian club, injury forced him out the side.
Bologna have reportedly targeted Alexander Kolarov as a potential signing as the 35 year old seemingly will be offered a one year deal.
This puts Hickey’s place under threat and it could force the youngster to look elsewhere in his quest to find regular first team football. With Hickey allegedly having already knocked back a move to Parkhead in favour of the Italians, he could be thinking that this opportunity may not come around again.
It’s not often a club like Celtic come in for a player twice. But three times? It could be now or never for the young defender.
