As the curtain lifts on the second half of the season tonight at Celtic Park, the Hoops fans will be chomping at the bit to see their new signings line up against Hibs at 745pm tonight.

With the prospect of Maeda, Ideguchi and Hatate lining up tonight, the 60,000 crowd will be hoping that the new injection of talent will be enough to pick up the three points against the Hibees.

But journalist, Hugh Keevins, has fired a warning to the Celtic fans ahead of tonight’s kick off.

The experienced journalist said in his column that the return of former Celtic star Shaun Maloney could be a potential banana skin for the Hoops as Keevins points out that the PArkhead side ned to be wary of the now Hibs boss’s knowledge of the game and his attention to detail.

Speaking in his column [Daily Record] Keevins said, “Celtic should approach Shaun Maloney with caution for a start.

“He’s short on stature but big on meticulous planning and has made astute signings since taking over as manager at Hibs.

“I’m told he brought in an opposition analyst last week as well, although how he works out Celtic’s team at short notice is anybody’s guess after their signing of three Japanese and an Irishman.”

And he is right.

How many times have we been impressed whenever Maloney speaks as a pundit on Sky Sports?

His experience of working with the Belgians and Roberto Martinez stands Maloney in good stead for the game tonight and two wins out of two shows just how prepared the former Celt was going into his first two fixtures in Scottish football.

Even with a potential of having up to six players missing, experience tells us already this season that you can take nothing for granted in this game.
