Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard seems set to leave the club as English Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion register interest in the talented striker.

As Edouard enters the final year of his contract and with no extension looking to be signed anytime soon, the club will be looking to cash in on their prized asset but it does seem that they will not sell Edouard for less than the reported £13.5m offer from Leicester City.

Celtic have shown in the last few weeks that they will play hardball when it comes to selling players as the club refused to sell central defender Kristoffer Ajer on the cheap.

As Celtic look to complete a £15m deal (with add ons) for the big Norwegian, it seems that when it comes to Edouard, they must be looking at offers at least above £15m or more.

A report from The Daily Express suggests Brighton are ready to do business and with £50m  ready to hit The Seagull’s bank account in the next few days when they seal the deal for Ben White to move to Arsenal, Celtic know they can afford to hold off for the best deal possible.

Celtic gaffer Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that he will get a slice of any transfer fee received to sink back into the team as he confirmed he is resigned to losing his star striker this window, “I can’t force people to stay. From my perspective, while they’re here, I’m treating them as part of the Celtic family.

“As long as they’re working hard in training, I don’t treat them any differently to anyone else. If things change with that, we’ll deal with it as we go along.

“I have had a brief chat with all the players. I don’t think it needs too much discussion. Actions speak louder than words.”

If Celtic can hold out for a large fee, the fans will be hoping that after PSG get their reporter 40% sell on fee, the rest of the cash will be handed straight over to Postecoglou to continue his rebuild.
