With Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou, wrapping up his first signing of the summer, pundit and journalist, Mark Guidi has tipped Celtic to add to their ranks with Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy.

Mooy has been the subject of much speculation over the course of the last few weeks and Guidi reckons if Postecoglou can tempt him to come to Paradise, the Hoops are getting a genuine quality player.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi was lavish in his praise for Mooy,  “He’s a good player. I remember him a little bit from his time at St Mirren when Gus MacPherson might have had him. He was on loan there.

“He was part of that kind of that Man City group where they had him and he was a promising player and they sent him out on loan a couple of times.

“Really good at Huddersfield, Huddersfield where in the Premier League, so he was really good there. I think it was David Wagner’s team.

“So more of an attacking midfielder.  Likes to threaten and likes to penetrate. So, to be honest if Celtic can get him, that’s a  real good signing.

“That’s a proper first team, ready to make an impact, help you win the league kind of signing.”

And that is the type of signing Celtic require. Not a project. Not a “one for the future”. Celtic need someone to walk into that first team with a presence and domination that will carry the team to the title. And by all accounts it seems Mooy fits that bill perfectly.
