As the celebrations run on, the manager will no doubt, be looking forward to planning for next season.

And adding central defender, Cameron Carter-Vickers does seem to be one of the top priorities for the manager as the big American stopper has been an absolute machine this season.

Calm and composed, CCV alongside Carl Starfelt helped build the meanest defence in Scottish football.

All the chat over the last few weeks has been about whether or not Carter-Vickers will join the Hoops permanently after the summer and Kieran Devlin dropped a huge update on that very subjec whilst chatting to fans on The Athletic match feed.

When asked if he thought the deal could well be hijacked by either Everton or Newcastle, Devlin said, “The fee is agreed with the initial loan move so it’s entirely up to the player and what he wants, it’s not about what the clubs can come in with fee-wise.

“Personally, think him making it permanent is fairly unlikely and has been unlikely the entire season because his dream has always been Premier League, so if that interest is there it’s hugely tempting.

“I’d be delighted if I’m wrong and he decides to stay though, because partnered with someone good on the ball would be a great partnership next season.”

Here’s hoping that last nights celebrations and another winners medal does enough to convince Carter-Vickers that his home is at Paradise.

Let’s hope 60,000 fans at every home game twice a week persuades him that this is the place to play his football.

Let’s hope Champions League football is also that cherry on top for him.

Because if it’s not, there’s not really much else the club can do. Is there?
