Celtic’s squad has been in the best condition it at this point than it has been at any other point of the season.
Pre Christmas, Ange Postecoglou was dealing with not only an injury crisis, but a personnel crisis as the Celtic boss still managed to negotiate one of the most difficult periods in the season and still keep in touch with our rivals at the top of the league.
But as we are on the cusp of title glory, we only need to negotiate one last hurdle and that is the Glasgow Derby next weekend.
There is one player though who has been missing from the Celtic squad over the last few weeks and trying to shed some light on his absence has been a bit of a mystery that even trusted Celtic journalist Kieran Devlin can’t seem to shine any light on.
When discussing the Celtic line up on The Athletic in a fan Q&A, Devlin seem perplexed at he lack of information being divulged by the Celtic manager, “Yeah Bitton is injured but don’t know the severity of it. Oddly no update on Bitton yet.”
And the Celtic manager has since said that the veteran midfielder has an ‘issue’.
Well I hope this ‘issue’ is sorted for next weekend as I, and thousands of other supporters, would love to put the league to bed with a win against our rivals and Bitton could be pivotal in that as his presence was clearly missed in the Scottish Cup semi final defeat.
