There has been a lot of talk regarding Kieran Tierney’s future at Celtic by the fans.

And it is little wonder.

With the club holding a 15% sell on clause on the defender, any monies generated by his next move could see Ange Postecoglou handed a few quid in the summer transfer window.

The problem Tierney has at the moment is that he is left on the Arsenal bench kicking his heels due to the outstanding form of Zinchencko and at 25 years of age, the Scotland international is at an age where he needs first team football to help progress his career.

With reports linking hin to Newcastle in the media over the last few weeks gathering pace, former Celtic boss, John Barnes has tipped Tierney to stay at Arsenal even though he believes that Newcastle could be a perfect fit for him.

Speaking to indiabetting via The Metro, Barnes said, ‘They’re a progressive team, they’re playing really well and they’re looking to go forward now.

‘They’re not looking to buy superstar players just because they’ve got loads of money.

‘Kieran Tierney is a good player who would definitely be a good fit for Newcastle but he’s also a good fit for Arsenal.

‘He’s an Arsenal player and Arsenal is a good fit for him. Of course they have Zinchenko who is playing in Tierney’s position right now, but I don’t see why at this particular point of time he would want to leave Arsenal.’

Tierney is a quality player. There is no doubt that he will command a very sizeable fee should Newcastle or any other EPL club consider purchasing him.

All Celtic need to do is sit back, wait and watch the money roll in.
