There is a reason Celtic fans seriously dislike Kris Boyd. Well there are many reasons, but the main one is his complete inability to perform as a professional and impartial pundit.
Even fans of other clubs dislike the guy.
If he’s not taking snide pot shots at Celtic, he is downplaying the Scottish game.
Boyd once claimed that no great players come from Scotland which is ironic since there have been many players that have graced our game and went down south to become stars.
Plus isn’t it ironic that the man chose to make that particular comment especially as he made his name in the country? Brass neck and blow torch springs to mind.
However, today, after Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Aberdeen, Boyd chose to start his analysis of the game not by praising a great team winning goal by Jota. Not by talking about Aberdeen’s comeback and decent attacking play.
Instead, he chose to take a swipe at the Celtic fans in his usual unprofessional and snarky manner.
Speaking this afternoon, after being asked about Celtic finding a way to win away from home, Boyd said, “Especially since the 14th February was the last time they won away. The fans were excited were a little bit excited there. They’ve not had to celebrate like that for a while especially on the road.”
Unnecessary and uncalled for but classic Boyd.
But then nothing is out of bounds for the former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker as just last week he targeted on loan Hoops striker, Leigh Griffiths and warned him to expect karma from the Rangers fans in a national article just hours before he faced them at Dens Park.
How he got this gig on Sky Sports is a complete mystery to me and an embarrassment to them.
If you changed Boyd to Sutton and Celtic to champions Rangers, then this would be a great article.
He might have got as how people down south veiw us we all know sky sports don’t want us they just didn’t want other channels to have us programme cut short right after game so they can talk about epl disgrace you see our teams in Europe BT is a much better show more professional more than two cameras covering games if we still had black and white I’m sure sky would make us watch spl and last of all have pundits that haven’t a clue and make us Scots a laughing stock can’t even sit upright slouched on chair not the way to present your self when you represent image of professional more like a lout all because smaller clubs go for the money they show two teams playing away most weeks send a man hated for his dislike of one team to there away games where you can see the man is shit scared sky give him a using I’m sure his safety is last thing on there minds just dangling him as bait to show the worst in a minority of celtic supporters bet poor kris doesn’t sleep when sent to fir Park Pittodrie dens Park Tannadice when celtic go there and skycover it cause he knows and sky that 99 percent hate him not dislike hate him so give the man a bit of respect cause he works for you I notice he wasn’t involved in livingston game and you could see the punters who were analysing fame and had a decent time after game look at ease cause the fans hatred was not directed at the place of work police must tell them looking for trouble I would not say anybody deserves such hostility but I think sky is using boyd
