Celtic midfielder Yossouf Mulumbu has moved to Kilmarnock on loan for the remainder of the season, as confirmed by the Ayrshire club last night.

Mulumbu was a massive player for Kilmarnock last season, showing the form that initially attracted the Hoops to his signature in the first place.

Signing for Brendan Rodgers last summer, the DR Congo international made just three appearances in the first half of the season and is clearly not fancied in the middle of the park.

His arrival was a curious one to begin with, with many fans considering it something of a panic buy in the final few hours of the summer transfer window.

The emergence of Ryan Christie and return of Nir Bitton has made him obsolete in Glasgow and he now has the chance to play regular first-team football in the final few months of the season.

Some may raise their eyebrows that the Hoops have allowed one of their title rivals to be strengthened, but the club clearly don’t see the Rugby Park side as too much of a threat.
