Celtic find last minute agreement on deal for £2.7m-rated star

|

Celtic have signed Borussia Dortmund full-back Jeremy Toljan, as announced on the official club website.

The player has joined the Scottish champions on a loan basis until the end of the season, although there is no declared option to buy the player should he impress in Glasgow.

He provides a crucial boost to the Celtic first-team and will immediately provide competition for right-back Mikael Lustig and cover for first-choice left-back Kieran Tierney.

The £2.7m-rated (Transfermarkt) 24-year-old has been announced and hyped as a right-back but has played most of his football in Germany on the left hand side of defence, promising to be a versatile option that can hopefully shine on both flanks.

It’s a signing that will appease fans too, who have been crying out all month for a quality defender to arrive at the club.

Toljan hasn’t played a single game for Dortmund this season so may need a bit of time to get up to match fitness, but I can’t wait to see what he can offer.
