The morning after the night before and more pressure is heaped on Neil Lennon after a long time supporter, Chris Sutton, branded him “delusional” after yet another 4-1 humbling at the hands of Sparta Prague.

Neil Lennon’s post match interview left many, including myself, confused at to what game he was watching. Lennon claimed that Celtic were “absolutely excellent” in the second half and did not deserve to lose the match. He also claimed the “performance and mindset was very very good in the match and the score line flattered Sparta”.

I’m sorry Neil, but no. We got what we deserved. Basic defensive errors cost the team three goals last night.  Callum McGregor was schoolboy defending at the first goal. When the defence all moved up, the midfielder stayed in the box keeping three Sparta players onside and they were queuing up to finish it.

The second goal was a shocking decision from Bain not to come for a ball that was drilled across his six yard box, and Julien flailed at trying to cover the man at the back post. Two goals from counter attacks leaving Julis free and unmarked for the third and for the fourth Plasvic finished after being left one on one with McGregor at the final minutes of the game.

A scorching 8-2 aggregate European result against a team of Sparta’s calibre is nothing short of embarrassing.  To give you an idea of how poor Celtic were, the striker Lukas Julis has scored five goals against the Hoops, two goals more against the Hoops than he did in his first NINETEEN games in the Europa League.

There needs to be a shake up in the dressing room. The current squad do not look like there is a performance in them. Lennon cannot afford another poor result from now until the end of the season, and it starts on Sunday at 2pm against Ross County in the League Cup
