Celtic manager Neil Lennon remains convinced that striker Gary Hooper will remain with the club beyond January.

“He will be a Celtic player come 1 February, I’m pretty sure about that” – Neil Lennon

The 24-year-old scored twice in a comfortable 4-0 victory against Dundee United to lift his side a full twelve points clear at the top of the table.

But the Hoops have already dismissed a couple of offers from Norwich City for the former Scunthorpe United marksman who has now netted in excess of seventy goals for the long-way leaders.

“He will be a Celtic player come 1 February, I’m pretty sure about that,” Lennon told BBC Scotland. “I don’t see any reason why he should be in a rush to go just yet and I don’t think he wants to.

“I think he’s just getting better and his performance tonight again was of a fantastic level,” he added. “He’s just a great player and we want him here.”
