Neil Lennon gave a frank and brutally honest interview where he explained that he would have “understood” if the he got the sack after the Ross County game and admits that he was hurt by the fan protests and that the action the fans took shocked the players.

After a run of just two wins in nine games and the elimination of three cup competitions before December, Lennon has took an incredible amount of stick from the fans, with the majority seemingly wanting the manager removed from his position, with everyone from the players to the backroom staff and the board all in the firing line from supporters as they make their feelings clear on how the team is performing in this first half of the season.

Lennon has been given the backing of the board twice in less than a week and as it stands, they see no reason to part with him at this moment. The board seem to believe that the Celtic Manager can turn this form around still win the coveted tenth title in a row. Lennon said,

From my own point of view, for 20 years I have done everything in my power to bring success to the club and the fans. That is not going to change on the run of a bad month or people being upset by my style of management if they want to say that.

Say what you like about the man but at least he has confidence in himself.  Neil has a tough challenge on his hands tomorrow night in the Europa League against AC Milan at the San Siro.  The majority of fans I suspect do not expect to get a result but what they will want to see is a marked improvement on what they have been watching lately.

Over to you Neil……
