Ok. I get this game. I get that this blogging game is build on headlines.

Headlines to grab attention to try and encourage people to read your articles.

I always refer to is as being in a sale 24/7.

You are trying to make your written material stand out from all the other publishers so that they will click on your link and read.

So what I won’t do is sit and pontificate about glorified headlines because that’s just the nature of the beast in this game.

But beneath the headline, there MUST be a story. A proper bona fide story that engages and informs the reader and, although not to the taste of some, that is what I try to do here at Vital Celtic.

Bring news about the club that might not be reported on by other outlets. Whether that be from podcasts or social media channels. All Celtic content is content right?

Well, it’s not when the content blatantly misrepresents what has actually been said in an interview.

For example, The Daily Record ran with this headline over the weekend:

For a start, Juranovic didn’t predict any treble. Here is what he actually said, “When I came here they said to me that Celtic is the club that wants the trophies and wants to take everything.

“That is my mentality and mindset too. When I came here I wanted to take everything.

“Also, in the league I think we need to beat everybody to take the trophy back.”

Effectively saying a club like Celtic should be winning all trophies available and that is what the defender wants as well.

No Treble ‘prediction’. Just a comment about winning trophies.

Which is fine. But when a national podcaster in BBC Sportsound pick it up and run a comment on it without reading the article and then criticise the player, that’s where I take issue. Have a listen:

Noe to be fair the commenter, Daryll Broadfoot (himself and experienced journalist) instead of criticising the article, mocked the player. And how would Juranovic ‘see’ that headline coming?

Especially when he said nothing of the sort.

It is no wonder fan media is becoming more and more popular everyday.

I dont know why we read the comments ,nothing good comes from them.
Take the Rangers managers comment last night.
I wont be calling for the game to be called off, when we played Celtic last time ,we lost two goal keepers the coach and the supporters but we played on.

Did he not know Celtic before the break lost 13/14 players and played on.
We never get any good comments,Daily record never bought it for over 35 years now, sportsound is the same.
