What can I say about Frank that hasn’t been said before?

As a Celtic pundit, I believe he is starting to, if not already has, lost credibility with some Celtic supporters.

His constant, and very public attacks, on some of Celtic’s players has left a lot to be desired, and in particular his vies on Anthony Ralston have drew the ire from some supporters.

I have written about them many times on here (just search McAvennie and you will find them) but this latest claim by the former Celt will leave many fans confused, because I was when I read it.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie seems to be predicting more signings coming Celtic’s way this window, “Maybe people were expecting even more signings straight away after the three lads were announced in December.

“I’m sure those deals will get done. We’re still waiting to hear about Jota and Carter-Vickers, I hope they arrive.

“Kenny has come in but I’m not sure how much of a role he will play this season.

“We are not even halfway through the window yet, there is plenty of time to sign these players who will instantly improve us.

“I’m sure they will cone because Postecoglou has already been heavily backed and he’s doing such a good job.

“I can’t speak highly enough of him. I didn’t think we would be where we are already.”

Did McAvennie miss the press conference where Postecoglou said there will be no more signings?

And who are these signings that will get done, as McAvennie puts it?

Unless something dramatic happens in the next two weeks, we have to take Postecoglou at his word and believe that there will be no more business this winter for Celtic.

  • Willie Mackie says:

I guess he means permanent deals for Jota and Carter-Vickers rather than wait till the loan deals expire in summer. Giving him the benefit of the doubt.
