Is this another one of those tenuous that lead to nothing?
Like the time Athletico Madrid were supposed to be interested back in the right back in June? [The Scotsman]
A report has surfaced today [90min] that Chelsea have been ‘doing background work’ on the Croatian international for a number of weeks.
This story was also covered by the Express where they also claim that Manchester United are also targetting him as Erik ten Hag looks to turn around the fortunes of the English giants.
Journalist, Tony Haggerty, tweeted that Celtic should only enter talks should the Parkhead club be offered a minimum of £12-£15m for the defender.
If Chelsea are genuinely interested in Celtic defender Josip Juranovic then the club should not get round a table for anything less than £12-15 million.
Any low ball for the Fireball should not be entertained.
That’s to get round a table – not sell.— Anthony Haggerty (@ahaggerty10) August 10, 2022
Even that price, for me, seems low.
But let’s not get into the semantics of money.
At this moment in time, there have been no offers for Juranovic and until such a time comes, we should treat this story as it is.
Speculation.
Paper talk.
There are no quotes from either Chelsea or United representatives at this time to confirm that they are looking to make an offer for Juranovic.
With 20 caps for Croatia and at just 26 years of age, Juranovic still has his best years ahead of him and has already stated that he has no desire to leave the club.
Celtic would be foolish to entertain any bids for one of their best players and unless silly money is offered, should rebuff any advances for the player’s services.
