McGregor “We must look forward”. Again? I wish someone would change the record

|

Giving the pre match interview today ahead of the game against Livingston, Calum McGregor spoke of how it has been a difficult week and how the team must look forward.

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting pretty fed up with the same line being sprung out at each press conference by different players. Do they not know we pay attention to what they are saying?

McGregor, talking to Celtic FC website, said, “Things can change quickly in football, we need to hold on to that belief, and as a club, look to move forward in the right way.”

We’ve heard all this before. From the manager, Scott Brown, Kristoffer Ajer, Davis Turnbull and Mike Johnson.

Its as if the record is on repeat and it is getting tedious now. Actions speak louder than words and we need to see it.  We are forever being told how hard the team worked in Dubai and how beneficial it is to get that warm weather training but until we see the product on the park, these meaningless sound bites need to stop.

Now granted, yes, we are decimated because of the COVID self isolation imposed on us, but yet again against Hibs, we saw basic goalkeeping and defensive errors cost us two points to set set us further adrift at the top of the table.

We used to poke fun at our rivals across the city for all the cheap media talk over the seasons and my, how the tables have turned.
