As Celtic take one step closer to winning the SPFL title with a 3-1 win at Livingston, Celtic legend John “Yogi” Hughes has urged the club to take a look at Ross County winger Regan Charles Cook as a possible summer addition at the end of the season.

Charles-Cook has impressed this season and leads the SPFL scoring charts this season with thirteen goals.

Hughes was part of the Celtic team that beat Leeds United in the European Cup semi final 2-1 at Hampden in 1970 and during an interview with CQN, tipped Ange Postecoglou to have a look at he pacey winger as a possible addition to the squad, “One player who has caught my eye this season has been Regan Charles-Cook, a winger who has managed to score 13 goals for Ross County.

“I watched him from the Lisbon Lions stand when Celtic beat Malky Mackay’s Highlanders 3-0 in September.

“I liked the look of him and took a note of his name.

“In fact, only a superb reaction save from Joe Hart prevented the player from notching a goal. If I remember correctly, we were winning only 1-0 at the time following Carter-Vickers’ debut strike.

“But, for me, Regan Charles-Cook might be worth a look.”

The Grenada international is out of contract in May and would not demand the earth in wages, especially if Celtic were to make a move but is the tricky attacker good enough to make it at Celtic Park where the demands are so high?
