“My dream is to manage Celtic” – The Passionate ambition of former Celt

|

With all the names being bandied about by the media for the vacant managers position, it is great to hear of a former Celtic player looking to the future and working his way to becoming the gaffer of Paradise.

Massimo Donati has revealed that his long term ambition is to one day return to Celtic Park as manager.  Donati signed for the Hoops in 2007 and won the Scottish Premiership with the Hoops in 2008. He has spent almost ten years in Scotland where he left Celtic in 2009 and returned to sign for Hamilton Academicals in 2016.

In 2018 he joined St Mirren but eventually retired his playing career to concentrate on coaching where he joined Angelo Alessio at Kilmarnock.  Donati eventually left Killie in June 2020 but revealed to Tribal Football that one day he hopes to return to Paradise in the dugout, “Working at Kilmarnock was a great experience. I have big plans as a manager in the future, I am just waiting for the right opportunity and I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Would you have John Kennedy as next Celtic manager?

YES

NO

“I have had many good coaches in my career and I have always tried to ‘steal’ something from each of them to be ready when my time comes. Celtic is really a great club, not even I was aware of its greatness until I found myself living it every day.

“From the point of view of the organisation (and not only that) it is very similar to Milan. My dream/goal is to become manager of Celtic one day.”
