Midfielder Nir Bitton admits the Europa League is really no consolation to Celtic.

“It’s different and it’s not what we wanted” – Nir Bitton

The Scotttish title-holders went out of the Champions League at the qualifying round stage for the second consecutive season when losing at Malmo earlier this week.

Attention now turns to the Europa League competition and Celtic will discover their immediate fate in that when the draw is made tomorrow.

“All that is left for us is the Europa League and right now that`s difficult to look at,” Bitton told the Daily Record. “We now have to get our heads around the Europa League. Of course it’s different and it’s not what we wanted.

“But once the disappointment leaves us for this game then we can look to the Europa League,” he continued. “There will be good teams playing in that competition and we have a duty to try and go as far as we can.”
