“No wonder fans are furious” – Tam McManus’ bizarre ‘stonewall penalty’ rant

For once, I agree with Tam. Fans are furious.

The Celtic fans at least.

For months we have had to put up with our club being the victim of the blatant referee and VAR mistakes that we now expect to get one against us every game.

And they did not disappoint yesterday.

Two goals chopped off and a penalty not awarded, the men in black are really going some way to try and disprove there is no conspiracy against our club.

Many fans have claimed we ‘got away with one’ yesterday after Giakoumakis appeared to bring down Kilmarnock’s Joe Wright.

I have already explained why I thought it wasn’t a penalty here, but former Hibs man, Tam McManus seemed to be a bit raging about the referee not awarding Kilmarnock a spot kick.

Taking to Twitter, McManus said, “Another stonewall penalty not given. What is going on with our referees?

“No wonder fans are furious.

“I refuse to believe there is a conspiracy against any club in this country.

“My genuine belief is that our officials are just not very good.

“Worst across the board in my lifetime.”

Tam needs to calm down a bit. Stonewaller? Not for me. Had it been against us, I would have claimed for it, but then had it been against us we would never have got it either.

For weeks we have had to listen to pundits tell us that not every handball is a penalty.

Fair enough.

Let me leave you with this. Not every piece of contact in a contact sport is a foul.
