“No wonder fans are furious” – Tam McManus’ bizarre ‘stonewall penalty’ rant

For once, I agree with Tam. Fans are furious.

The Celtic fans at least.

For months we have had to put up with our club being the victim of the blatant referee and VAR mistakes that we now expect to get one against us every game.

And they did not disappoint yesterday.

Two goals chopped off and a penalty not awarded, the men in black are really going some way to try and disprove there is no conspiracy against our club.

Many fans have claimed we ‘got away with one’ yesterday after Giakoumakis appeared to bring down Kilmarnock’s Joe Wright.

I have already explained why I thought it wasn’t a penalty here, but former Hibs man, Tam McManus seemed to be a bit raging about the referee not awarding Kilmarnock a spot kick.

Taking to Twitter, McManus said, “Another stonewall penalty not given. What is going on with our referees?

“No wonder fans are furious.

“I refuse to believe there is a conspiracy against any club in this country.

“My genuine belief is that our officials are just not very good.

“Worst across the board in my lifetime.”

Tam needs to calm down a bit. Stonewaller? Not for me. Had it been against us, I would have claimed for it, but then had it been against us we would never have got it either.

For weeks we have had to listen to pundits tell us that not every handball is a penalty.

Fair enough.

Let me leave you with this. Not every piece of contact in a contact sport is a foul.

Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?

Every week Giamickous plays I see him being pushed in the back by defenders and very rarely does he get awarded a foul . Against Kilmarnock what he did happens to him constantly.

Been a Celtic-FC_1888 supporter I’d be looking for a penalty but since var my team (Celtic-FC_1888 ) has had more to complain about var or ref decision going against us is it could have been a penalty but stonewaller no way he’s looking for it and mcinnes sent his team out to attack instead of hoping for a penalty Celtic-FC_1888 would have taken 6or more goals off them they tried to open up 4 minutes from time and Celtic-FC_1888 walked through them for the second goal come on its was sponsors dream celtic getting through no team should get to a final ultra defending one 50/50 call that’s it only thing that was worth Kilmarnock done in celtic half they had Everthing there in there favour stormy weather terrible surface but didn’t have the bottle to take Celtic-FC_1888 on who deserves to go through even ref was defending for Kilmarnock and you still got to score it so it was not 1-1 Celtic-FC_1888 had 2 up on scoreboard till var say no goal and ref and var says no penalty have a go next time killie supporters turned up 7,000ans great turn up for Kilmarnock and to watch there team defending looking for scraps from throw ins free kicks corners missed kicked clearance falling to them and offcourse a penalty that’s been giving against Celtic_fc_1888 more than any other club in spl paying money for that suppose they could always admire some of the passing even on a public pitch and movement of the Celtic-FC_1888

Had the incident happened at the other end I would have been looking for à penalty, but as it stands,I think we were due a wee break!. And as we are always told, it evens itself out! I also can never understand how ” pundits” are always sure about decisions against Celtic, but hum and haw when it is for us, The answer is easy. They all support a team from the ” sooth side”. Enough said. But we’ll done CELTS for getting over the line and into another Hampden final. And as far as the ” National” dump is concerned? What a red face to show it on National telly!!!

  • Sean McGinley says:

They are just Cheats. Nothing else to it. Plenty of statistical and factual proof out there.
……… and again today, VAR didn’t work for 5 minutes at a very convenient time. Their cheating has only begun and unless the muted Celtic board turns on the volume, its only going to get worse ! Much worse ! Get the SFA back in court, even if the masons in black go on strike.
