Premier League side wasting their time according to latest Edouard transfer report

The Daily Mail has reported that Crystal Palace are the latest Premier League side to be credited with an interest in signing Odsonne Edouard, with the striker continuing to be the subject of growing speculation surrounding his future in green and white.

Is Edouard too good for Palace?

With Albian Ajeti currently out injured with a hamstring strain, the French youth international won’t be leaving just yet but The Daily Record, who picked up the initial story from The Mail, claims that he wouldn’t be interested in a move to Roy Hodgson’s side even if a bid did materialise.

Neil Lennon spoke recently about his desire to see Edouard stay at Parkhead and that the forward remains happy in Glasgow despite his recent form:

“We don’t want Odsonne to go, obviously, and we have had no significant interest in him as yet.

“There’s always a bit of agitation when the window is open, but speaking to him he seems content enough.

“He didn’t have his best of games in Latvia in midweek, but that’s fine.

“Odsonne is a human being at the end of the day. He’s 22.

“He didn’t have the best of games, but we know what we have got here with Odsonne.

“We know what a talent he is. He is a quality player.”

There is no doubt that the Celtic squad would be weaker if Edouard was to head south and any transfer fee would be scant consolation, he will be expected to start against Sarajevo on Thursday night with the gaffer hoping that a return to form will see the Hoops return to group stage football on the continent once again.
