Oliver Burke signed on loan for Celtic over the weekend, and though perhaps not the sort of player we were dreaming of landing, it’s still a pretty exciting deal. He was, of course, touted with greatness a few years ago, and he’s still got that natural talent.
Significantly, though, he’s still raw, and so if Rodgers is able to help him go to the next level, we could have a special player on our hands.
That, it seems, is a crucial reason as to why he chose to move to Parkhead. Speaking following his move, via the official Celtic Twitter, Burke has revealed that a conversation with Brendan Rodgers was crucial in convincing him to move to Scotland.
“I can’t wait to hit the ground running, play as many games as I can, and help the team as much as I can.”

Certainly, Rodgers has a rich history when it comes to developing young talent, and so Burke is in good hands. At just 21-years-old, he’s at the ideal age, after all, and given our needs, you’d expect him to get a decent amount of game time.
He’ll give the boss a fantastic attacking option, and that’s something we have lacked at points this term. Who knows, maybe he’ll find his feet and help transform our season.
Thoughts?
