Celtic Capture Rodgers Target As Loan Deal Secured – “We’re On Our Weah”

|

A short time ago this evening Celtic announced the capture of highly rated young striker Timothy Weah from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 18-year-old talent heads in on a six month loan spell but it doesn’t sound like we have a buy clause inserted into this deal from the choice of words used by manager Brendan Rodgers.

With two goals in six senior appearances to his name for French side PSG, he also has eight United States caps at international level and he will now travel over to Dubai to join his new teammates on our warm winter training camp.

Describing him as a player, Rodgers told the Official Site.

“He has really good qualities technically, and tactically is always improving his game. Physically he’s very good, very fast and is a strong player. He’ll add competition to the squad.”

Given how long the rumour mill has linked us with Weah, fans were naturally delighted to see the deal finally over the line, especially with a good chunk of the winter break still to go as it gives him plenty of time settle in to the group.
