Let’s face it, this is going to be an exciting season for Celtic fans.

With Champions League football returning to Celtic Park, a squad consisting of a fine array of talents throughout the team and with Angeball, one year in, there’s a lot to be cheerful about.

Yesterday was a start that was consistent with how we finished last season.

Dominant on the ball, composed throughout the game, and no panic even when it stayed 1-0 for an extended period.

Yesterday we played like the champions we are.

However, the system that we are playing, as exciting as it is, can leave you prone to the occasional heart flutter, especially seeing Joe Hart near the halfway line trying to get a touch of the ball.

It seems this is clearly part of Ange’s plan, to push up the centre-halves and have a sweeper keeper.

That, and pushing the full backs into central midfield positions will leave us often a bit short at the back. At times yesterday, I had a bit of fear, especially when Welsh took one or two extra touches, losing the ball there, even on the halfway line would lead to a one-to-one with the goalkeeper.

In order to enjoy the games, while still keeping ourselves out of a doctor’s waiting room, there might have to be an acceptance that we will lose goals based on silly errors high up the park.

We just need to make sure we score more than they do.

We might manage to get away with this in the spl,but champions league teams will capitalise on this and hart cannot be utilised as a sweeper – the reason guadiola dumped him – as his ball control is woeful.we must have different tactics for champions league for any hope of progress.
