This is a story that certainly doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

Not only has Stephen McGowan commented on this particular transfer, Vital Celtic reported yesterday that the Daily Mail journalist completely shot down the move for Mohamad Abu Fani when he said, “Well, I think you always naturally assume there’s going to be a Dudu Dahan link there as sure as night follows day.

“He’s back in favour again because of Liel Abada again who scored for Israel of course.

“They’re looking at markets they simply haven’t looked at before. Israel isn’t one of them. They may well go back to the tried and tested, you wouldn’t be entirely surprised.”

Not so claims the Israeli media. In fact, according to One, there are goings on behind the scenes to try and secure Abu Fani a move overseas.

The report also name checks Celtic as one of the teams interested and that an ‘attractive’  offer may smooth the transfer proceedings with his club Maccabi Haifa.

Vital Celtic reported on this link just last week and it seems that a bid of £800,000 could be enough to entice the Israeli side to let Abu Fani speak to clubs.

The midfielder is a winner. Twice winner of the Israeli league and winner of the Israeli Super Cup, he has a winning mentality that would fit right into Ange Postecoglou’s side.
