Celtic are said to be closing in on exciting West Brom winger Kyle Edwards. The Football Insider claims that a Celtic source has confirmed that the Hoops are in negotiations with the left sided winger.

Edwards has been earmarked to fill the void left by Norwegian internationalist Mo Elyounoussi as the Parkhead side look to beef up their attacking options.

The tricky winger was released by West Brom following their relegation to the English Championship but Celtic would still be liable for a development fee of around £300,000 as he was a product of their youth academy.

Postecoglou may see Edwards as a perfect fit for his Hoops side as he spoke of the type of football he wants to play and identified areas of the team and types of player he would need to ensure they can fit in with his brand of football, “We are working hard to try to get people in.

“We are working on multiple fronts. There are some pretty obvious gaps we have in the squad.

“I know exactly how I want to play and the kind of players we need, so we are looking far and wide. There’s challenges with getting players into the country and doing business so early in the window.

“The whole club is working hard and I’m hoping over the next week or so we have some announcements.

“It’s not about a number – I’m just keen to bring in some players because we have a lack of depth in areas. You look at centre-back, wingers, at right-back.”

Only time will tell if any announcements will be made on player incomings and Celtic fans will be hoping that announcements will coming thick and fast and soon.
